Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.

this isn’t like me, i don’t get into deep feelings publicly, but if it wasn’t for my parents pushing me to send the first Dookie novel off to publishers, none of this would be happening.

My mum really pushed me to be honest, and when i recieved my first offer she was so happy. Yet i held out, looking for the perfect publisher to best partner with, as i knew my book (Dookie: A Colourful Life) was only the begining.

I have always bucked the trend, and the trend for getting a publisher was/is ‘go big’ – ‘multi-national’, etc. Yet i always want to support local, and just a few months later Incunabula Media and i found each other. A match made in local heaven! With offices in both my local area of S. Wales, U.K. and L.A, California, and their love of surreal story telling, we haven’t looked back.

My parents were as happy, more so than me i think! Lol. Sadly my mum never got to see my book finally launch. Something i know would have made her unbearably proud. She was with us though, i’m sure, next to my dad (and no1 fan and supporter) as i read from the pages to a small crowd in an art gallery.

My dad continues to go above and beyound, helping me to bring each book, tshirt, baseball cap and event to life. Without which i would be lost.

I must note to, since i’m being so uncharacteristically nice and soppy, that Dave of Incunabula Media has also put himself out in a massive way to support my Dookie ventures. He has taken up the mantle of artist for the comics i have written that accompany the novels. He loves them so much he had to see them come to life. Something i am more than greatful for.

So, without my parents huge support and love and dave’s talent, i would never have got Dookie out of that little samsung phone’s note pad app i managed to write it on!

And thanks to all of you guys who like and subscribe to my blog! Its nice to know others like me are out there.
