Do you remember life before the internet?
Remember it! F^ck me I dream of the internet crashing so hard it just gets switched off!
We could live like the folks of Dragon Valley then eh! Say what we want, think our own thoughts, pay cash for stuff in shops (you remember them don’t ya?).
You know, back when I still a serving Marine, I started building websites. I took a little class on the ‘internet basics’. This was in about 96′, the teacher said something I have never forgot.
“The internet will become overrun with massive corporations using it to sell on a huge scale. This will put all the small and local businesses out of business!… It will destroy our culture in the name of freedom, and then they will use it to take our jobs.”
How right was that dude eh! A pot smoking hippy multi-millionaire mind, but a switched on guy for sure.
When I write my Dookie stories, I mention the net from time to time. I refer to “fakebook” etc and ‘hash tags’ but only to take the p!ss out of it all, or even in one instance to arrange an orgy with a bunch of snowflakes. Lol.
