Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

Well, i don’t talk about this too much as its quite difficult, but after the loss of my mum, my wife saw me and my dad standing in our back yard clearly and obviously at a deeply low point. So, she gave us a job. Rip our shed down and build me a gym!!!

It may not be what everyone needs, but it was certainly what we needed! I don’t even think we drew a plan out, we just grabbed some tools and started demolishing. Over the next few weeks or so we cleared the land, dug it out, poured concrete, bought piles of chunky wood and even roped in my training partner to help us sweat our way through our loss.

Now, as we all know by now, i aint normal, so i didn’t just want a bland ‘shed’ looking thing at the bottom of my garden. Oh no, i wanted a work of art! An open air and light filled space with a huge removable door on wheels.

Obviously, i’m the dreamer, the wifes the boss and my dad is the maker. So, between us we came up with a one of a kind beast. And now everytime we look at it or use it, we all know, that even though me and dad created it, it was mum who really built it for us.

And we just added a little sauna!

What a great family eh. I love my gym.
