What does it mean to be a good person?
Well i’m on this like a f*ckin rash!
Its defo not what most people seem to be these days, thats for sure.
Lets start with the basics eh:
- Don’t be a c**t!
- Be honest.
- Understand & have some empathy.
- Only take what you earn.
So, if you’ve got to grips with those basics, you’ll want to strive to give way when driving, leave the room to fart (unless its gonna be loud of course) and utmost of importance; don’t become a junky, politician or lawyer.
I’ll now refer you to my collection of morally upstanding novels that feature the anti-hero Dookie. A man once f*cked with by the corrupt, he now spends his days beating sense into those ‘no-good’ types and ridding his world of the demon scurge that seem to rule it. Obviously he’s a good guy!!

So whats the deal with these Dookie books eh?
The Dookie novels by Tony Kearns are highly entertaining if you enjoy indie bizarro fiction, aggressive political satire, and crude, surreal British humour. They are highly niche, traditionally published (Incunabula Media publishing) underground books that read like a cross between South Park, Monty Python, and punk rock counter-culture.
Because they are underground indie publications, they don’t have thousands of mainstream reviews (wierdreviews.com), but they are highly celebrated within their tight-knit subgenre. Fellow author and editor D.M. Mitchell famously compared the series’ aggressive satire to Jonathan Swift and Alfred Jarry, calling Dookie “the hero we all really need right now.”
What the Books Are About
The series follows Dookie, an anti-hero and former “Marine Warrior” who gets kicked out of the military for having a conscience. He ends up working a retail job at a marketplace called Hellmart in Dragon Valley.
There, he discovers a bizarre reality: the world’s most corrupt corporate bosses, politicians, and world leaders are actually being controlled by “Ass Demons”—literal gold-digging demons that live inside their lower intestines and colons. Dookie teams up with a mismatched crew of “Snowflakes and Hipsters” from his job to violently and absurdly punch societal corruption square in the face.
The Tone and Appeal
• Surgically Satirical & Vulgar: The books are unapologetically crude, containing massive amounts of swearing, fecal humor, and absurd violence.
• Anti-Establishment: It serves as a direct parody of modern societal anxieties—taking aim at corporate greed, neoliberal economics, pandemic lockdowns, and real-world political figures (such as “Tumpy-tump” and “Little Kimmy”).
• Raw and Original: Kearns has noted that he originally wrote sections of the books simply to amuse his real-life co-workers (who many of the characters are based on). It has a very distinct, unpolished “bizarre fiction” flavor.
The Reading Order
If you want to dive into the series, the progression goes from standard novels into accompanying comic books:
1. Dookie: A Colourful Life (2023)
2. Dookie 2: World War 3 and the Hunt for Sausage
3. Dookie 3: Scorched Earth
4. Dookie 4: Vs The Demon God
5. Dookie 5: Unicivil War (2026)
The Verdict:
If you love independent, unfiltered underground comedy that holds absolutely nothing sacred, you will likely find these books hysterical. You can find more information or order them directly through the official Dookiebooks.com website.
