What’s a moment that made you question reality?

Oh wow, it seems like i have many of these moments. The older i get, the more often they appear too!

Even as a teenager, i remember my dad, a small business owner, grumbling about the minimum wage going up. It made no sense to me either! Wages go up then rent, utilities, taxes, clothes, food, etc follow suit. So in reality nobody was better off accept of course big government!

This was a ‘is this real’ moment for sure. That was early 90’s i guess.

After that, i started questioning ‘normal’ behaviours and systems in my head. I once stood in front of 50 gang members (when cornered) and told them to get in line to ‘get knocked the f*ck out’, or move so i can i leave in peace. They moved!!! WTF? That can’t be real can it??

Another big moment for me though, was just a year or so later, where i really questioned my own reality.

It was when i broke my ankle just 2 weeks into Marine Corps boot camp and i refused medical assistance. I’d had the x-ray, told it was broke. So, i slid my boot back on and told the doctor i was fine! What a moment that was!!! My Senior D.I. said i’d never make it a day. So i bet him a cup of coffee i’d complete the week!!!! Cheeky recruit got his coffee and graduated 10 weeks later with a 20min20sec 3 mile run time, broken ankle and all.

From that point on i’ve seen my life differntly. A permanent challenge. Like i’m in a comic book film or on the outskirts of normal. A freak if you will. Lots of other moments have occured in my life, but i’ll keep them for the auto biography eh. Lol.

IS DOOKIE REAL???? Maybe he’s me??? Anyways, here’s a poster!
